HELLO! I'm Billy

I am a classically trained guitarist and I think that the guitar is one of the best things to grace this planet! I have so much love and passion for playing the guitar and I would recommend to anyone to learn how to play it! I first picked up a guitar at the age of six and years later went on to study at The Royal College of Music in London.

Growing up, I was drawn to artists who pushed the boundaries and whose work crossed genres such as Rodrigo y Gabriela, Tommy Emmanuel and Mike Oldfield. Those influences, mixed with my own background and training, helped me develop a style that fuses Classical, Flamenco, Fingerstyle, Acoustic, and modern Rock/Pop.

One of the milestones in my early career was reaching the grand final of the TV show Guitar Star (Sky Arts) when I was just 14 — that experience threw me into the spotlight, gave me the opportunity to be mentored by incredible musicians including George Benson, Tony Iommi and Tony Visconti (David Bowie's producer!), this helped solidify my commitment to becoming a professional Musician.

Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to perform across the UK, Europe and beyond — at festivals, concerts, private events, and tour alongside rock legends. I’ve had the chance to explore a broad range of genres, from classical pieces and flamenco rhythms to acoustic rock, using both steel-string and nylon guitars.

What matters most to me is sharing what I’ve learned. All those years of technical training, experimentation, performance, and arranging have gone into building a teaching method that’s honest, accessible, and effective.

That’s why I created this guitar course — to pass on what has worked for me, in an easy to understand, structured way.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, a guitar hobbyist wanting to improve, or someone looking to master fingerstyle or classical technique — this course is for you.

Wishing you all the best in your guitar playing journey and I hope I can help you along the way!

MY ONLINE GUITAR COURSE

I have created "The Billy Watman Method" to put together my years of experience with the guitar into one single course for you guys to learn the right way.

So many guitarists get stuck in the hole of just learning random youtube video tutorials and random songs in random orders, which leads to random progress!

I have created this course with the perfect structure to master the guitar on your own and become a self sufficient guitarist, my dream with this course was to create something for you guys to teach you how to take things into your own hands so you can still know all the essentials that many guitarists know, but also have the ability to learn things by ear and make your own arrangements.

Once you master everything in my course - the sky is the LIMIT
