I have been learning the guitar with Billy for over 5 years. He is an incredibly talented young guitarist who imparts his passion in his teaching. He is encouraging, patient and gives you very useful tips to improve technique and learn new skills.  The lessons are fun and relaxed and we have tackled a great variety of pieces, mostly classical (my preference), but also flamenco, swing, and his own arrangements of popular songs. I always look forward to my lesson!

I first learned guitar from my uncle, picking up chords and a few solos between the ages of 14 and 18. I understood the fretboard and how to play barre chords, but I never really learned the underlying music theory, especially from a classical perspective.

At 45, I reached out to Billy for a tab and some advice. He replied, “Why not book a Zoom lesson?” That simple suggestion led me to start taking regular lessons with him. Billy’s style is incredibly broad. He genuinely loves classical guitar, but he blends it with jazz, rock, pop, and always includes the essential fundamentals.

🧠 For adult learners: Learning guitar after 40 is a different journey. You absorb things differently, sometimes more slowly. But with the right teacher (and Billy absolutely is), you can become a true guitarist. Just remember to enjoy the process!
